"Blessed are the hungry, for they shall be filled." (Jesus) Hunger is an escort into the deeper things of God (Misty Edwards).
Maintaining hunger is a Spiritual discipline that is directly connected to desire and desperation for God Himself!
Hunger ignites the release of a passion that is born in the basic-core
need for His presence and His personal attributes. We feast on Him, who
He truly is! Father/Mother God Nurtures our soul and Spirit/Heart!
As hunger is satisfied, we are Spiritually nourished with Fathers
Heart, His Gifts and His fruit. We have Holy Spirit to impart and impact
our daily sphere of influence with.
We no longer do the
"religious shuffle" of throwing memorized scripture 'crackers' or
"pseudo/pop/spiritual" principles at the starving world around us!
We are full to running over with The Actual Person of Jesus! He
splashes out of us with a joy not known to the religious crowd! We feed
the thousands with baskets full of left-overs for the millions yet to
feed!
Go and share the nourishing Gospel of Jesus Christ! Make
disciples, teaching them the truths of Kingdom life. They will become
"chefs" and "servers" of Holy Spirits abundance!

Drawn Into the Mystery of Love
“Hang my locket around your neck;
wear my ring on your finger. Love is invincible facing danger
and death. Passion laughs at the terrors of hell. The fire of love stops at nothing - it sweeps everything before it.” (Song of Solomon 8: 6, Msg)
My journey
into the mystery of love B.C. (Before Christ) was fraught with rejection, repeated
failure, pain, nagging doubts, confusion, dashed hopes, withdrawal, shattered dreams
and broken relationships. I even at times explored in my mind the so-called benefits
of the life of a recluse; which my twin brother actually chose.
I made a
multitude of mistakes while attempting to re-build significant and lasting
relationships. At that point, enduring joy and peace were not on my relational radar!
Dys-function and Dys-grace were a more common theme in my relational reality.
Patient trial and error became non-negotiable in my journey toward hope-filled,
healthier relationships.
But; as the
mystery of the love discovered in Christ has been unveiled within my
inquisitive soul, I have taken the bait again and encountered myself risking
and unmasking! Slowly and surely, the rewards of function and grace have
provided impetus for timid, albeit safer forward motion relationally. Over the course of forty plus years I am
experiencing more and more relational success.
While
growing relationally; I have also discovered a dark part of me (among many) with an inordinate concern
for approval. And there I met a foe by
the name of worry.
A lot of mental
energy went into worrying about other peoples’ opinions. The most pointless
opinion I was inordinately concerned about was what they thought of ME. This
bred all sorts of stuff--from minor annoyances right through to suicide. Along
the way it diminishes and even kills peace, friendships, enjoyment, confidence,
families, creativity and a thousand other things. Being “popular” didn’t and doesn’t
usually produce good results either.
The world of marketing relies on human insecurities and
fosters them in every possible way, as if we can somehow get others to like us,
or at least stop not liking us, by using their products. This sows corruption
and lies. It produces a crop of a skewed self-image.
“First of
all, you have to keep unmasking the world about you for what it is:
manipulative, controlling, power-hungry, and, in the long run, destructive.
The world tells you many lies about who you are, and you simply have to be realistic enough to remind yourself of this.
The world tells you many lies about who you are, and you simply have to be realistic enough to remind yourself of this.
Every time you feel hurt, offended, or rejected, you have to dare to say to yourself: 'These feelings, strong as they may be, are not telling me the truth about myself. The truth, even though I cannot feel it right now, is that I am a chosen child of God, precious in God's eyes, called the Beloved from all eternity, and held safe in an everlasting belief.”― Henri J.M. Nouwen
The gospel of Jesus says you are highly-regarded, honored, and not merely acceptable but accepted in the Beloved! Your uniqueness is an asset not something to be ashamed of, you have been designed and known by God forever, in the best possible way. His family is your family, he is not waiting for you to do or become anything before His total commitment and love kicks in.
“It may seem only human to want people to like you, but He has brought us beyond being “only human” into the realm of His eternal, inexpressible, indescribable, limitless, joy-filled, Spirit-to-spirit, all-free, all-provided connection which we call love-empowered grace!” (Anne Voskamp)
So; let all doubt
be stilled in Love's certainty, for Love always believes. When all seems over,
Love rises up with new hope and new strength. Love is who you are! (Mary
Anne Rabe)
His love trumps everything; past,
present and future!!!! His love invites me to plumb the
depths without fear. His love casts out all fear! And then the incredible gift
of friendship comes into focus.
“Friendship
is the center peg of all enjoyable relationships and deep friendship is the
highest of all. In marriage, in parenting or in the workplace, true friendship
is the deepest and longest lasting connection between two humans. It is the
same with God. As Creator, Father, Bridegroom, King and Judge the pinnacle of
nearness to Him is friendship.
It is
stunning that He offers us this kind of entry into His heart and His life; that
He wants to “tell us things” and share His heart with us. The fact He enjoys
us, not only loves us, but entrusts Himself to us and desires to be with us is
the highest reality that I can imagine.” (Misty Edwards)
“Finding a true friend is like trying to find a
diamond in the sea. It would take forever, but destiny guides the path of the
impossible.” (Alan Smith) True friendship is built, fortified, and secured by the
wholly unique love of God. And true, loving
friendship expresses itself in the following ways!
1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy
but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2 If I speak
God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain
as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it
jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3 If I give everything I own to the
poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've
gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. 4 Love never gives up. Love cares more
for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't
strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, 5 Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep
score of the sins of others, 6 Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, 7 Puts up with anything, Trusts God
always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the
end. 8 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some
day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. (1

Father’s true and eternal love, Ron Ross

A Radical View on Repentance
Warning: the following will mess you up. Allow Holy
Spirit to lead and guide you into all the truth concerning ‘repentance’. This is
critical to The Message being the Gospel
of Grace!
"The guilt and shame that is always associated with repentance causes
this great gift to be, almost universally, thought of in a negative light and
resisted rather than embraced as it should be and will be when seen correctly.
" (Clark Whitten) Pure Grace - page 98).
“Repentance is
the most mis-translated word in the New Testament" (Broudus). It means
to change one's mind in light of new truthful information. This is the process
by which Believers have our minds transformed. When the truth of the finished
work of Christ challenges religious mindsets, repentance allows one to embrace
the new and discard the old.
By this process we grow up into the fullness of
Christ. The mixture gospel taught by the vast majority of evangelicals reduces
the glorious gift of repentance to a tool of behavior modification. Truth
embraced will always produce freedom and correct Jesus-like thinking! The
truth is--Believers are the righteousness of God (In Christ) or we are not
righteous at all. Jesus' work was
finished completely or not finished at all!” (Whitten)
“Consider the word metanoia, consisting of two
components, Meta, together with, and nous, mind, suggesting a radical mind
shift. This word has been translated regularly as “repentance,” which is an old
English word borrowed from the Latin, which means penance. Then they added the
“re” to get even more mileage out of sin consciousness. Re-penance. This gross
deception led to the perverted doctrines of indulgences, where naive, ignorant
people were led to believe that they needed to purchase favor from an angry
god. Most cathedrals as well as many ministries were funded with this guilt
money.
English translations do little to help us understand
what repentance truly is. Until Jerome’s Latin Vulgate translation, the word
metanoia was commonly used. For instance, Tertullian wrote in 198
A.D., “In Greek, metanoia is not a confession of sins but a change of mind.”
But despite this the Latin fathers begin to translate the word as “do penance” following the
Roman Catholic teaching on doing penance in order to win (or curry) God’s
favor. In 1430, Lorenzo Valla, a Catholic theologian, began a critical
study of Jerome’s Latin Vulgate and Valla pointed out many mistakes that Jerome
had made.
Sadly, the “Vulgate-Only” crowd of Valla’s day forced
him to renounce many of the changes that he noted needed changing in the
Vulgate including the poor translation of metanoia. The business of religion desperately needs paying and returning
customers. Jesus was crucified for this reason; the entire system of keeping
people dependent on their hierarchy was challenged and condemned by him.
Isaiah 55:8-11 gives
meaning to metanoia: “your thoughts were distanced from God’s thoughts as
the heavens are higher than the earth, but just like the rain and the snow
would cancel that distance and saturate the soil to awaken its seed, so shall
my word be that proceeds from my mouth.”
The Greek preposition ‘Meta’, (meaning) ‘together with’,
implies another influence. This is where
the gospel becomes so powerful since it appeals to our conscience to reason
together with our original design ... the authentic thought; the mind of God is
realized again. The distance caused by Adam’s fall, compared to the distance
between heaven and earth, is cancelled in the incarnation.”
Following is the bottom Line of what is so incredible about
authentic and pure change of mind and life direction (What we have been duped by
religion to mistakenly refer to as “repentance” or “do penance”).
Metanoia suggests a co-knowing with God! It is an intertwining
of thought; it is to agree with God about me.
Your belief in God does not define him;
his faith in what he knows to be true about you defines you. In Mark 11:22,
Jesus says, “Have the faith of God.” Unfortunately, most translations say,
“Have faith in God.” That is a difference. God’s belief in you gives substance
to your faith. Jesus is what God believes about you.

Life from Father's Perspective
How
is your spiritual vision? Did you know that through the “eyes” of the heart you/we
can experience God-sight? This “spiritual sight” is illumined by faith, and
allows us to “know” that we are seated with Jesus in Father’s lap of love. Here
we are also invited by Jesus into the Heavenly opportunity of continuous
enjoyment of Father’s affirming watch-care. And ‘wonder of wonders’, we can forever
look full into His wonderful face with an unhindered view.
Tragically,
too many are to often distracted and focused everywhere but there. Why would we
allow our spiritual sight to be lowered and miss His passionate gaze? Can you
dare to believe that His eyes will never contain a hint of rejection, disdain,
disgust or dis-approval? The “perfect love” that explodes through His eyes will
drive out all doubt and fear.
Being able to see yourself in the light of
Father’s loving eyes is truly a mystery. You can’t define, program, explain, understand,
or manipulate God-sight. The only option is to continually receive by faith;
through the “spiritual eyes” of a regenerated heart His awesome, loving,
embracing, constant gaze.
“To
as many as received Him, to them gave he the power to become the children of
God (with a new heart that comes equipped with ‘spiritual eyes’), even to those
who believed on his name.” John 1:12 KJV
“This is the crisis we’re
in:
God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness.
They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing
God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and
illusion, hates God-light and won’t come near it, fearing a painful exposure.
But anyone working and
living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the
God-work it is.”
“This
is how much God loved the world: (desiring for any and all who will to see that
love in His eyes) He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so
that no one need be destroyed (by a darkened
mindset and understanding).
By believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing
finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world
right again.” John 3: 19-21 and 16-17, The Message, emphasis and parentheses
added.
Many
live in the delusion of enlightenment apart from God-sight. He is not seen in
the pursuit of knowledge. You will not be enabled to peer into his awesome eyes
by the mastery of the intellect. Father’s vision defies all of our intellectual
boxes.
You must have the “eyes’ of your heart
enlightened.
This comes only through a Spirit of revelation: “that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of
revelation in the knowledge (meaning personal intimate knowing) of Him. I pray
that the eyes of your heart be enlightened…” Ephesians 1: 17-18a, NASB,
parenthesis added.
We
live in a most unique time in history. The ability to know about God has
never been more accessible. There is a plethora of printed, audio, video, and
digital-cyberspace programs being produced. State of the art curricula
materials about God abound and are more available than ever before.
Tragically
and truthfully; increased access to knowledge about God does not necessarily lead
you to a more intimate relationship with Him. The Father Jesus came to reveal
and share is only known by faith, through seeing the salvation in His eyes,
through the eyes of our heart.
“But
God himself took charge of his people, took Jacob on as his personal
concern. He found him (including all whose heart eyes are fixed on his
redemptive gaze) out in the wilderness; in an empty, windswept wasteland (boy
does that define where he found me). He threw his arms around him, lavished
attention on him, guarding him as the apple of his eye.
He
was like an eagle hovering over its nest, overshadowing its young, and then
spreading its wings, lifting them into the air, teaching them to fly.”
Deuteronomy 32: 9-11, The Message, emphasis and parenthesis added.
What
a picture of his watchful care and oversight! The eyes of an eagle watching
over you and me until our eyes perceive that we are the “apple of his eye”.
Once there, we will soar into the heights of “whom” and “whose” we are in
Christ!

Father's Loving Gaze
For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout
the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” 2
Chronicles 16:9, NKJV
Father’s eyes are continually scanning the horizons of the
entire earth; searching for the heart of even one of His children that He has won
to His love. Just the slightest detection or hint of one totally committed
heart, evokes an eruption of color from His eyes that rival the Northern Lights
dancing and swirling gleefully like a “love drunk” schoolgirl.
I know--I have seen the
Northern Lights on a number of northern trans-Atlantic flights. They must
reflect His eyes, as they lock in on even one of His children fully committing
their heart to His heart. Why do I believe this to be true? Because they
explode, dance and twirl all the way across the horizon with the sharpest and
broadest display of color imaginable! That is the only way I can begin to
capture or describe the experience of looking into His eyes.
Phil Whickam, in his song “You’re Beautiful,” wonderfully proclaims that “The colors
of the morning are inside His eyes.‟
There is no color spectrum or palate known to man that could provide adequate
definition to the colors of the morning. They are beyond description, yet
Father’s eyes contain them all.
All it takes is one glance into
His eyes; when your eyes catch His loving gaze, you see the dancing light and
color—and for that moment you are certain His gaze has always been fixed on
you. In that moment all of life comes into perspective. For that exhilarating
moment; in the loving reflection of His eyes, you see yourself: your history,
your family of origin, every relational experience—the good and the bad—and for
that moment your life’s journey is okay.
The sum total of your life: the
joys, the pain, the ups and downs, the struggles, the failures, the successes
and victories, the infirmities, the shameful and knowingly sinful acts of
rebellion, the insane and addictive behaviors, the confusion, the doubts, the
fears, the deepest-yet untold secrets, the sincere good intentioned attempts at
changes and reconciliation, the previously unknown or miss-understood divine
interventions, every moment of your history fades into the pure light of His
non-shaming, non-judgmental, all-consuming loving gaze.
Every glance into His eyes
becomes a divine, romantic encounter of intimacy (into-me-see). And in that
moment you recapture the deep knowing of childlike simplicity. You are restored
to the sweet innocence of perfect Holy Communion with Him! In this loving
exchange you are only aware of Father’s
joy and complete delight to be with you! You are arrested by His joyous approval
and pleasure. And you become a prisoner of love!
You are confronted in this
sacred moment, with His great plan for you and the wondrous place of
significance you have in His will and purpose! In this same moment you recapture
destiny and calling. You finally fit. Everything has meaning—there is nothing
in life that has been without reason—nothing wasted. Even your sorrows aren’t wasted—you see their redemptive value! Grief and
loss is finally acquainted with Father’s
loving plan. All of life’s divine purpose comes into clearer focus—in the
perfect light and color of Father’s
heart piercing glance.
Our Lord Jesus knew that revelation
of Father’s love changes everything. No Cross is unbearable. In Father’s eyes we see that every test refines our faith like
gold! The writer of Hebrews admonishes us to keep our eyes on Jesus…He began
and finished the race of life we are in…He set the pattern for us to follow. We
are to study how He did it.
He never lost sight of the goal
or the prize. He always kept his Father’s
will before Him. And Jesus always knew He was headed for an exhilarating
finish—in and with His Father. Jesus always kept the Father’s loving glance in view. He only did what He saw His
Father doing and because of that, He could put up with anything along the
way—even the Cross, with all its shame! The only proof we need is that He is
now seated at the place of highest honor; His Father’s right hand. Thus, we can see in His eyes (no matter
what is happening around us) that we are also seated with Him in Heavenly
places.
The climax of discovery in Father’s eyes is the passionate love of
Jesus. His fiery love trumps everything else! Let the love of Christ be your
life! Stir the embers in your heart by always remembering how he abandoned
himself to/for us. His love is contagious, not reluctant but extravagant. His
love calls the prodigals home to his heart; and at the same moment it unstops
the ears of all the elder brothers.
There is no place for rules or
law in His loving gaze! The moment you replace the spontaneity released through
his eyes you lose the edge of romance! And
the romance we discover in his eyes is
scandalous, undisputable, un-diluted, pure loving grace!
In the grip of Papa’s loving gaze! Ron Ross
